I hear so many times from my friends and other women that they hate taking pictures because they feel awkward or just critique themselves or whatever the problem may be. I HATE HEARING THIS! Women listen up- your are all boss ass babes who slay anything and everything and look FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC! Pictures last forever so take as many of them as possible and savor them!! So today I’m going to share my top five tips I use for my own pictures and not to toot my own horn but I take a lot of them so you should probably listen to me haha!

Tip 1: Smile is Key
I hear people say this all the time but quite literally- SMILE IS KEY! If you take anything from this post it’s that you should own that smile and laugh and giggle a bit to get the best “in the moment” picture because believe me girl, you have the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen!

Tip 2: Wear Something your Comfortable/Confident In
I think this tip is pretty self-explanatory but seriously wear something that makes you feel beautiful and it will show in your pictures. I only wear outfits I’m either confident or comfortable in and I am able to be my true-self!

Tip 3: Touching your Hair is always a Good Idea
If you’re wondering where to place your hands and feel a bit awkward then I always resort back to touching my hair and playing with a bit lol! Whether this be tucking it behind your ear or flipping it or whatever, JUST TOUCH IT LOL! These actually usually turn out to be some of my favorite photos!

Tip 4: Props Come in Handy
Whenever you’re holding something it’s automatically easier to pose because you’re not thinking about what do with your hands. One of my top tips is to use props whenever you can. SERIOUSLY BELIEVE ME IT’S A LIFESAVER! I usually use a purse or accessory but cute coffee cups/mugs and/or flowers work as well!

Tip 5: Look to the Side
If you’re wanting a more candid, natural looking picture then look off to the side and smile into the nothingness of the distance haha! As cheesy as that sounds, instead of getting the usual smiling into the screen look, look off to the side!

As always, let me know if any of you follow these tips. I would love to know if they helped!
