What I’ve been doing while Social Distancing

Right now is a difficult time for everyone, including me. My junior year of college was cut short and I wasn’t able to say goodbye to my friends or sorority sisters because it was so sudden. I’m still adjusting to being home 24/7 now with my family but I’ve been trying to keep busy and keep as positive an attitude as I can. I’ve still been pretty preoccupied with school and work but I’ve been doing some fun things to keep the joy in my life. Here’s what I’ve been doing!

My Sorority Experience

There is such a stigma about sororities or Greek life in general but no one can really speak on it unless they’ve been in one. Joining my sorority, Phi Mu, as cheesy as it sounds, has been one of the best things to happen to me. I joined three years ago and if you knew me my freshman year of college (fresh out of high school) you can see the growth I’ve encountered and confidence I’ve gained. I truly believe that this is thanks to Phi Mu and the great women who have helped me along the way.

My Favorite Self-Care Activities

I try to specifically set time aside every week for self-care activities. Sometimes I can only do five minutes, some days I can do up to an hour. It really just depends on what school, sorority and work tasks I have to complete. My time management has been pretty good lately so I’ve either not been stressed and crunched for time or I’ve been able to take time to relax. A Year Adapting to Change

So, 2019 was a whirlwind of emotions filled with lots of change and growth to say the least. I learned all that I can accomplish when challenged, planned for my future, lost a grandparent, learned who my true friends are and that it’s okay to lose those that may not be the best for you and your journey and MUCH MUCH MORE! I think every year, “Alright. This is it. I’ve grown all I can.” But, every year I surprise myself more and more with my potential.
