What I’ve Been Doing for my Own Sanity

These past couple of months I’ve been really focusing on my health- physical and mental and restricting myself of certain things. Before, I had just been going with the flow and not caring about how much time I spent on my phone or social media, etc. Now however, I feel so refreshed, less anxious and care-free. Here’s what I’ve been doing for my own sanity.

DELETED MY SNAPCHAT: There’s something to be said about having enough strength to be able to pull yourself away from social media this day and age. I deleted my snap and don’t miss it at all. To be fair, I wasn’t on it much anyways so it wasn’t that difficult to remove myself from it but it’s still a step in the right direction.

1-1.5 HOURS ON SOCIAL MEDIA EACH DAY: With also deleting my snap, I’ve put a 1.5 hour restriction on my social media use but I try to keep it at an hour. This inhibits my mindless scrolling through Instagram and allows me to spend more time with my friends and family and just take my eyes off my screen each day.

GETTING IN MORE STEPS: Walking is sooooo good for your health. Because of this, I’ve been trying to make it a point to either get up from my desk at work during the day or walk on the treadmill or stair master at the gym later on in the day. I normally try to set a goal for myself every day and try to meet that goal. Just depends on the day what the goal is.

YOGA BEFORE BED: I don’t do a full-on yoga routine right before bed but I do the stretches oo this pin I found on Pinterest. I do feel like they make me sleep better and I wake up feeling energized.

Nightime Yoga

LAVENDER EVERYTHING COME BEDTIME: I like this sleepy time lotion from Bath and Body Works that smells like lavender and vanilla. I put it on before I do my nighttime stretches and with that combined, it puts me in the right mood for bedtime.

GYM 5-6 TIMES A WEEK: There was a period of time where I was only going to the gym 2-3 times a week which is better than nothing but now I try to go 5-6 times. This also makes me sleep better and I just feel healthier all around.

DEEP CLEAN MY ROOM EVERY 2 WEEKS: I like to keep my room pretty clean as far as putting my clothes away and keeping everything organized.  However, I don’t always get to dusting, sweeping, etc. I’ve been trying to keep up with this though because if I wait too long it gets too bad and takes me forever to clean it especially since all of my furniture is white and I have a black dog.

Let me know in the comments below some things you do to keep your sanity and keep up healthy habits for you mental and physical health!
