My Background:
Would you believe me if I said I’ve never tried any whitening methods before?! I have always wanted to before but never knew which method to try until I gave Smile Brilliant a whirl! I have coffee every morning so that has definitely done a number on my teeth, granted though I’m only nineteen and have been drinking coffee regularly for about two years now.
My Experience:
With never trying any whitening products before I was slightly nervous because I have always heard people talk about sensitivity being a problem with whitening. My teeth used to be really sensitive but I started using Sensodyne Toothpaste about two years ago and it has helped tremendously. Depending on your level of sensitivity and tolerance, I would recommend waiting a day or two in between uses if it gets too unbearable. My gums were the only part that got a bit uncomfortable but if I felt it was too bad I would take off my trays and/or wait a day in between. The kit also comes with several syringes of desensitizing gel that worked wonderfully.
As far as results go, I saw results after the first time to be honest. I think because I have never used any whitening products before, my teeth took to the product very well. At this point though I have gone through one syringe so far (the kit comes with four) and are at a level of whiteness I’m happy with. However, I do plan to continue using the rest of the syringes until my teeth are pearly, pearly white! It all just takes time but after just a week I am SO PLEASED with the results! I applied the whitening gel in the trays every night and wore them for a little over an hour. You can leave them on for up to three hours though and just go about your day. I would put them on before bed and wear them while doing my homework to make the time go by faster.
