I found Kristin Ess’ Rose Gold Temporary Tint when I was watching one of my favorite youtubers, Aspyn Ovard’s, video “Instagram Controls my Life for a Day”. Her hair turned out super cute when she used it and I had been wanting to dye my hair pink for a while so I figured, ‘Why not?!’ Keep in mind, her hair is almost bleach blonde and mine is a pretty dark, dirty blonde. The product is retailed for $12.00 at Target.
The package said it is meant for pre-lightened or high lightened blonde hair however, when I read the reviews on Target’s website it seemed like it worked for a variety of different hair colors. I also looked up Kristen Ess’ Instagram and she had a picture of Lucy Hale’s hair, which is a deeper brunette color, using the product so, I assumed it would work… I guess I set my hopes too high.
For application, I followed the directions and even went an extra mile. I shampooed my hair and then soaked up extra water with a towel fairly well. I then, got out of the shower and sprayed a decent amount in my hair while looking in the mirror because I wanted to be able to see what I was doing. (Pro tip: this stuff gets everywhere and I doused my hair with the product so I was dripping all over the floor too…maybe set a towel on the floor so as not to stain your bathroom.) I then got back into the shower and waited for about five minutes before rinsing and applying conditioner because I really wanted this to work. The directions say to leave it in for one to two minutes before rinsing. I got out of the shower and blow dried my hair and was a bit disappointed when drying it. Noticing the color wasn’t showing up I sprayed more, without rinsing. For the final product I inserted pictures. I got a slight rosy tint in my hair which I think is still cute but not what I was expecting. If you have lighter hair I think this would work great for you but if you have anything darker than that like mine then don’t expect bright pink as the outcome.
As far as elongation, it lasted one wash but, even though the description said it would last two to three.
I like the color even if it didn’t come out as expected. I think it’s pretty.
